ABHISHEK BACHCHAN KEEPS HIS PROMISE
Abhishek Bachchan is one amongst the few actors who spends a lot of time detailing the ‘look’ for his characters. In every character that he portrays, he brings alive a bit of his ‘own’ element. Abhishek did it effectively when he put on weighty kilos to look the part of Gurukant Desai in ‘GURU’ and for ‘RAAVAN’ when he reversed the gear and shed 18 kilos to authentically essay the character.

But what is not known to the world is the fact that Abhishek Bachchan has done a lot more than just lose weight for the look in ‘Raavan’. Abhishek Bachchan has sported a very short, military style crew cut in this film which is an outcome of a long standing promise he had made to his mentor and director Mani Ratnam years back. The tale goes like this: Mani Ratnam wanted Abhishek to cut his hair for ‘Yuva’ and Abhishek ended up keeping his hair style with a promise in store that ‘one day he will allow Mani Ratnam to cut his hair!” And so on the first day of the shooting in Kerala on the sets of Raavan, Mani Ratnam himself gave Abhishek the ‘Beera’ hair style.

Now that’s what we call adding a ‘real touch’ to the reel character of Beera!
